Rigid-Flex PCB

Rigid and flex substrates laminated together, removing connectors and cable assemblies.

Rigid-Flex PCB produced by Aisler

Overview

Rigid-flex construction carries the flex section through the rigid layers, so a single board replaces a connector plus cable assembly. That removes two failure points and saves assembly time. Aisler builds 2 to 12 layer rigid-flex boards with polyimide flex cores, covering both static bend-once installations and dynamic flex applications that move in service.

Key construction features

  • 2 to 12 layers, 1 to 6 flex sections per board
  • Static bend and dynamic flex designs, with bend radius guidance in DFM
  • Copper hatching and cross-hatch ground planes on flex sections
  • Stiffener and coverlay options in FR-4, aluminium or polyimide

Manufacturing specifications

Standard production capability for rigid-flex pcb. Tighter limits are confirmed during DFM review.
